CONNECT 2022 launched in May with an exciting new focus on sustainable industries in the regions. The program of activities includes our long standing and popular CONNECT Business Incubator which supports regional entrepreneurs. Twelve businesses across regional WA from Busselton, Perth Hills, Bunbury, Collie, Exmouth, Wiluna, Dunsborough, Geraldton, Broome and Exmouth represent a diverse range of industries from sustainable marine development; to tech providing businesses with new revenue generating waste streams; to large scale supply of bush food for domestic and global markets.
The cohort commenced with a regional business bootcamp, site visit to Australia’s most sustainable brewery Rocky Ridge Brewing facility, were part of a marine science and innovation event PulsebyForBlue.io, and have so far experienced four masterclasses including ESG with MCC Environmental and Sustainability.

Expression of Interest are now open for regional based WA startups or businesses solving problems in regional WA to have their business featured at the Showcase.
In a WA first, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s eConnect+ Project developers have recently built a bespoke online data sharing platform.
The pilot platform, which was officially launched in May, may be likened to a ‘trusted online courier service’ for users to send and receive agricultural data (agdata).
Essentially farmers, agricultural industry representatives or other key users, known as Data Originators, will be able to share their agdata via the Extrata™ data sharing platform to trusted third parties.
Recently launched Dealroom WA displays the latest
information on startups, innovators, high-growth companies, scale-ups, corporates, funding rounds, and investments from across Western Australia.
The platform provides real-time and historic information on WA's early-stage innovation ecosystem, including accelerator programs, co-working spaces, universities, grants and assistance.
Western Australian Venture Support (WAVES) 2022-2025 pilot program
